Rice terrace fields in Vietnam - A hidden beauty of the North Highland in Vietnam

Rice is an intergral part in Vietnamese life. Rice cultivation dated back some  4 thousands years in Viet Nam and rice became the major food fro almost the people in the country. Due to the difference of the weather from areas in Viet Nam, there’s just only one rice crop is cultivated in the North Highland of Viet Nam. The cultivation is started from late May, early June until late of September. Thanks for the hilly topography of the area, the local people have created one of the wonders in this world.

Most of the beautiful rice terrace fields  are in North West area such as Tu Le, Mu Cang Chai, Sapa and Hoang Su Phi.

When the first rains come, it's time the local people preparing for the new crop.
