Itinerary: Motorbike Tour from Ho Chi Minh to Hoi An (Da Nang)

Day 1: Sai Gon motorbike tour to Cat Tien National Park (170 km ~  105 miles)

Depart from Saigon, the largest city in Vietnam. Enjoy the majestic ride through the hustle and bustle traffic of this dynamic city heading to Cat Lai ferry. From there, continue the journey along winding roads that cut through vast rubber plantations and tropical forests, offering stunning views of Tri An Reservoir. Take a moment to capture photos and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic scenery.

Travel alongside the Dong Nai River, immersing yourself in the daily life of locals as you pass through numerous fruit farms and rice fields scattered along tranquil back roads. Pay a visit to Ma and Stieng ethnic villages in Talai Commune, and then embark on a short ferry ride across the river to reach Cat Tien National Park. Once at the park, take an optional soft trek to explore its natural beauty.

End the day by relaxing at a charming riverside hotel nestled peacefully by the water, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 2:  Cat Tien motorbike tour to Mui Ne (180 km ~ 110 miles)

The day begins with the melodious songs of birds. Refresh yourself with the crisp morning air as you sip your coffee, soaking in the serene beauty of the National Park. Set off on a journey through winding roads that lead across rolling hills toward the highlands.

Follow Route 55 to the Dami Reservoir, where breathtaking views await. Along the way, immerse yourself in the charm of local life as you pass dragon fruit farms, lush rice paddies, family-run businesses, and traditional ethnic villages.

Cruise along the picturesque coastal road to explore a vibrant fishing village and a peaceful ferry stream before reaching your hotel in Mui Ne.

Day 3: Mui Ne Motorbike tour to Vinh Hy Bay (180 km ~ 110 miles)

The day kicks off with a brief ride along Mui Ne Beach, leading to the vast white sand dunes, where you can choose to rent a plastic sled or an ATV for an exciting experience on the dunes.

Travel along open roads through numerous sand dunes toward Phan Ri, stopping briefly at the Cana salt field to witness local Vietnamese lifestyles up close. The afternoon journey to Vinh Hy Bay is truly breathtaking, featuring a scenic and windy route passing through fishing villages, lush grape farms, and the stunning Nui Chua National Park. A protected area renowned for its picturesque coastal roads considered some of the most beautiful in Vietnam.

The day concludes with arrival and an overnight stay in Vinh Hy Bay.

Day 4: Vinh Hy Bay to Dalat (200 km ~ 124 miles)

Begin the day with a short ride to admire the breathtaking view of Vinh Hy Bay, pausing occasionally to soak in the spectacular scenery of Cam Ranh Bay and Thuy Trieu Lagoon.

Travel towards the Central Highlands along a hidden back road that winds through Bidoup National Park. Make a stop at an ethnic Raglai village, where you can learn about their culture and get a glimpse into the daily lives of the local people.

Continue along the winding mountain pass road for 30 kilometers, eventually reaching the entrance to the Central Highlands.

On your way to Dalat, take time to visit plantations of tea, persimmons, and vegetables, observing how locals cultivate and harvest their produce. Arrive in Dalat before sunset, often referred to as the City of Eternal Spring.

Day 5:  Da Lat – Lak Lake, Lien Son (160 km ~ 100 miles)

Depart and take a quick ride to one of Vietnams most unique hotels. Well known for its quirky architecture, the Crazy House

Cruise along the countryside viewing the variety of abundant agriculture such as vegetable farms, flower green houses, coffee plantations. As well as a tour of the silk worm factory to observe the process of making silk

Visit the elephant waterfall. Following lunch, ride along the winding roads. Periodically stopping to relish the spectacular scenery in addition to visiting the local market and fishing village

Arrive at our final destination Lak Lake before dark where you may stay in a hotel or home-stay

Day 6:  Lak Lake – Buon Me Thout City (130 kms ~ 80 miles)

Relatively effortless day as not much time is spent on the bike

Time may be spent enjoying the Gia Long Waterfalls, riding elephants, canoe rentals, hiking, swimming or simply relaxing

Visit the typical Vietnamese villages of M’nong and Ede where you may learn about the culture and daily life of the towns people

After the morning activities. Embark on a quick ferry ride across the river followed by a bumpy however stunning ride through rice paddies, pepper farms and local villages.

Lunch followed by a cruise to Dray Sap waterfall. Home to one of Vietnams many natural wonders the Dray Nu falls where we will spend the afternoon unwinding. Rooms are available at the falls or in Buon Me Thout City as this is our final destination for the day

Day 7: Buon Ma Thuot motorcycle tour to Kon Tum (240 km ~ 150 miles)

Depart and begin our ride to Chu Se with a visit to Buon Me Thout City, also known as the coffee capital of Vietnam

Along the ride we will stop and observe locals making rice noodles, incense, drums as well as cultivating mushrooms. Afterward, we begin our journey on the legendary Ho Chi Minh Road to learn about the fascinating period in history during the French colonization and Vietnam War

Lunch stop at Chu Se where you may indulge in some of Vietnam’s best rice and chicken dishes. After we ride to Pleiku City to visit Bien Ho Lake. Time is allotted to relax and savor the scenery, followed by the bumpy back road through ethic villages and rubber plantations

Continue north to Kon Tum where sites include a historical church, orphanage and museum as well as Konktu village, home of the stilt communal houses. Stay overnight in Kon Tum.

Day 8:  Kon Tum – Kham Duc (190 km ~ 118 miles)

Begin the day with a majestic ride through the hills and many ethnic villages

Along the way we will stop and visit the many historical sites such as Phoenix Airport, Chally Hill, the Ho Chi Minh Trail and much more where our guides will give information about some of the most ferocious battles of the Vietnam War.

After stopping at the local hot spring and passing over a suspension bridge we finish our 190k journey. Arrive at our destination for the day, Kham Duc

Day 9:  Kham Duc- A Roang (180 km ~ 110 miles)

Continue your journey along the breathtaking 150-kilometer stretch of the Ho Chi Minh Road. Take time to stop at remote villages along the way to immerse yourself in and observe the unique local culture.

Unwind or take a refreshing swim at a secluded natural waterfall. Visit a nearby pineapple plantation, where you can savor fresh, locally harvested produce.

The day offers an unforgettable ride along the legendary Ho Chi Minh Road, passing through dense jungles and vibrant ethnic Ko Tu and Ta Oi villages.

Conclude your day at A Roang with an authentic village homestay experience, complete with a relaxing dip in a natural hot spring alongside the locals.

Day 10:  A Roang – Khe Sanh (140 km ~ 87 miles)

Spend the morning immersing yourself in the daily life and traditions of the local Ta Oi community in A Roang village.

Travel back to the Ho Chi Minh Road via winding mountain paths, reaching the district of A Luoi, once home to numerous US military bases during the Vietnam War. Visit at key historical sites along the way, such as Ashou Airport, Hamburger Hill, and other locations tied to some of the war’s most intense battles. 

After covering roughly 100 kilometers of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Road. Passing through isolated villages, intriguing tunnels, and breathtaking landscapes. You’ll finally arrive at your destination of the day, Khe Sanh

Day 11:  Khe Sanh-Phong Nha Cave (220 Km ~ 136 miles)

Embark north to the UNESCO site of Phong Nha National Park on a stretch of road widely considered by motorcycle enthusiasts as one of Southeast Asia’s greatest gems.

After an early departure we will occasionally stop and site see more of the war relics located in Khe Sanh. Home of perhaps the single most horrific battle of the Vietnam War. Proceed to the Ho Chi Minh West Mountain Road enjoying the lack of traffic, jungle scenery, hidden villages, rivers, winding roads and at times the Laos boarder

Arrive at the UNESCO site of Phong Nha National Park as our last destination of the day motorbike adventure.

Day 12: Phong Nha national park discovery

A day for relaxation and recovery. The activities include the relaxing boat trip to one of the world natural heritage of  Phong Nha Cave

Day 13: Phong Nha motorcycle tour to Hue (220 km ~ 136 miles)

Begin the day with a cruise from Phong Nha to the Vinh Moc tunnels. An extraordinary underground village built to evade bombardments, offering a poignant glimpse into the turbulent wartime history.

Next, take a short drive to the Truong Son National Military Cemetery and the DMZ to deepen your understanding of Vietnam‘s civil war history.

Cross the Ben Hai River and continue towards Dong Ha, traveling along scenic countryside roads leading to Tam Giang Lagoon.

Board a quick ferry across the lagoon before enjoying a picturesque ride to Hue, the final destination for the day.

Day 14: Hue motorbike tour to Da Nang or Hoi An (170 km ~ 105 miles)

Spend the morning sight-seeing some of Vietnams great historical locations under the Nguyen Dynasty. Such as the UNESCO complex of the Hue monument. As well as the ancient emperors’ scattered along the Huong River

Travel along the coastal road offering some of Vietnams most outstanding landscapes to Da Nang and eventually the Hai Van Pass. The famous Top Gear motorcycle ride in Vietnam

Periodically stop for food, beverages and photos. As well as a dip in the pools of Hai Van Pass’s Elephant Waterfall

Make a stop at a view point of Da Nang and the stone carving village of Non Nuoc
