North Vietnam 5-day motorcycle tour to Ha Giang route
For those of you interested in traveling, you can folllow the below schedule. With this schedule, from Dong Van, you will ride through Bao Lam, down to Ba Be and then back to Hanoi.
Day 1 (Friday evening): Hanoi - Tuyen Quang
To save time, you can go from Friday evening to Sunday morning in time for Dong Van market. Should start at 6:30, just enough time for you to come home from work to the gathering point.
Day 2: Tuyen Quang - Dong Van
7:00: After breakfast, depart for Ha Giang. If you go in the spring, remember to visit the Peach garden before coming to Ha Giang city. Peach blossom is very beautiful. You can take pictures in this stunning garden after paying the garden owner a little.
10h00: Arrive in Ha Giang, take photos at landmark 0. Then move to Quan Ba.
12h00: Have lunch at Quan Ba. Please note that before entering Quan Ba, do not forget to stop at Heaven Gate, as well as on the pass to see the entire valley of Quan Ba town.
13:00: Continue heading to Dong Van. On the way, you can stop at Fox Street, visit some local houses. If you travel in the spring, it’s better to stop to take pictures of the beautiful plum blossoms. If you go in the flower reform season, you should spend more time visiting Sung La as there are many beautiful flower reform gardens. Also, you can visit Pao's house in Sung La.
18h00: Arrive in Dong Van, check in hotel. In the evening, you can go for a walk in Dong Van Old Town.
Day 3: Dong Van - Lung Cu - Meo Vac
7:30: Please remember to get up early to have breakfast, then go to Dong Van market to play. Now the new Dong Van market has no longer had the ancient features of the old market. It’s hard to see the local girls wearing traditional clothes in the market.
However, you can still enjoy special breakfast in the market. Don’t forget to have Thang Co specialties at the market, a specialty of the Mong people.
9h00: Leave for Lung Cu.
Depending on the time situation, you can have lunch before or have lunch after visiting Lung Cu flagpole.
13:00: Visit Lo Lo ethnic minority village at the foot of the mountain. Then depart to visit the Royal Family Palace. The way back if you can stop by Ma Lé.
15h00: Arrive at the Vuong's house, spend 1 hour visiting here. Find out historical information about the Cat King.
16h00: leave for Meo Vac. On the way, we can stop on Ma Pi Leng pass to take pictures and play back to Meo Vac. Evening to sleep in Meo Vac.
Day 4: Meo Vac - Ba Be
7h30: This road will pass through Pia Oac National Park, along the way you will see the forests, bamboo gardens… If you go in the rice season, you will be able to see the terraced fields on Road 212 from Tinh Tuc to Ba Be.
We will have lunch in Tinh Tuc or depending on the destination.
In the evening, we can sleep in Ba Be. Sleep in Homestay and socializing with ethnic people at night is for sure a memorable experience.
Day 5: Ba Be - Hanoi
In the morning, you rent a boat to visit Ba Be Lake. Have lunch at the homestay. In the afternoon, about 13:30, depart for Hanoi.
With this schedule you will go in an arc. There will be more attractions than going and going back the same way. Also if you like Offroad, you can go on Meo Vac - Yen Minh - Du Gia - Mau Due. This is the ideal route for those who like OFfroad. The scenery is also beautiful, the way also passes a very majestic high winding pass.
